amazing peoples, place and food . tecumseh editorial photographer

When we moved out to our small town Sean and my biggest worry was being 35 minutes away from all the restaurants in Ann Arbor. Really that was our biggest nagging doubt. It wasn’t the 2 acres, it wasn’t getting used to a slower pace, or having to drive to get to target or whole foods.. it was where to go out to dinner. The week we moved to Tecumseh was the same week that Evans Street Station opened. We waited a few days and made reservations, we went in and were gobsmacked in love. We ate at Evans all the time (we still do whenever we can snag the chance just a bit less with the business, the five year old, taekwando and other extra curriculars) for years. Sean even worked there for a short time. I’ve photographed Chef Alans amazing family and consider Chef Alan Merhar, his wife Kathryn and Beth Kennedy the manager all great friends. Whenever I get the chance to shoot for them (and eat a bit as well) I jump at it.

A few weeks ago Sean and I shot (and ate) at one of Evans Streets and Chef Alan’s amazing cooking classes, I dropped off the images yesterday and got an email from Beth today that Evans (with a mention of a few other of my favorite places in town) were celebrated in the Metro Times (check out the beautiful shot by Rob Widdis in the article too). What perfect timing to share a few images from the other day and congratulate Evans Street Station on a great review!

I still keep a blog, it's consistently regularly updated but not often. I like it because I can go back almost 10 years and see how I've grown and changed as an artist and how my studio has changed along with me.

Sharing my latest work both personal and commercial. Leave a comment or say hello :)
