Alena and Jacob. Rochester Hills, Mi. Holiday Session

I love Laura’s two beans. Jake is a sparkly-eyed, best little brother, who has no trouble giving me a wink or a pout and then ignoring me for his icecream. Alena is a sweetheart, joyfully curious but not as comfortable with me staring at her from behind a camera. She would much rather turn to hug her brother then sit still for more than a two count. The way to capture these two was with a trip to the diner and then a walk, playing through the front window and following the light to the bright orange and yellow autumn leaves. Thank you Red Knaps for the yummy milkshakes and letting us hang out for a bit and take photos!

Paul and Justin’s, Barton Hills Ann Arbor Wedding

These two had me crazy about them the moment we met. It was kismet that Justin is Kerri’s Dental Hygenist and Ana my most favorite was their planner. Then it got real when they asked about shooting the engagement session on the ice. So I was looking forward to their wedding and their day was everything wonderful. The amazing friends, on an outdoor ceremony, rained on and rushed into the ballroom to so much gratitude, joy, and love that the room shone with it. The eloquent and heartfelt speeches had me in tears, Mary had the dancefloor doing her will and Lady Amalthea came out and Drag Queen slew. So I have no way to really “pick” the best photos but these I think tell the story better then I could.

Franny and Eric . Engaged . Nordman Lake, Michigan

Franny and Eric wanted to incorporate two really important things into their engagement session. Their Vintage Honda Motorcycle and their dog Jack. Franny arranged for us to have the amazing setting of Nordman Lake Lodge in Dexter as our backdrop for the session and it was magic. The light, the love all that stuff was in abundance. It was fabulous getting to know Franny and Eric better and I got some cardio in chasing them around as well! They waited too long due to website issues for their gallery (with grace and patience) but I won’t make the world wait one moment longer to share in their smiles.

Amanda’s Botanical Garden Senior Photos

I met Amanda and her mother at Bridget and Lisa’s Wedding (Which I JUST realized I don’t think I blogged!!! ACK I’ll fix that soon) and this year we did her senior photos. She wanted something more artistic, something that represented her and we slew the images! She made my month and that’s a fact. Check out a FEW of my favorites from this amazing young woman’s session.

Molly and Matt get married . Colony Club . Detroit, MI

I’m super selfish, I have to admit it because I know part of the reason I don’t share as much as I should on the blog is that I hate to let the images go. I covet them. Matt is the brother of Kelly and officiated Kelly and Brandon’s wedding, which I photographed (see it’s awesomesauce here) and I met Matt and Molly and they are just as wonderful as they look. I couldn’t wait for the wedding, and then the day was, well, you’ll see, just perfect and I sent them the photos a few weeks ago but I selfishly kept them to myself… It’s like letting them go, and I hate choosing the “best” I love them all. I love every single laugh and each dance move caught. But I can’t keep something this glorious hidden, so I got it together and made a blog post.

A few things: Molly’s dress was amazing, I will get the maker I always forgot to ask. They read their own vows and they were beautiful. Their cat was there in pillow form and made it in a fair amount of photos and the aged whiskey barrel was there for guests to sign and to hold a photo of Molly’s father who was there in spirit. It was so great to see all the guests sign it and reminisce and talk about him as well. It really made him part of the day. Great dancers, lovely friends, and an amazing family. Thank you both for letting me be there to capture your wedding day.
